| I am an american who is travelling around eastern europe. I am currently trying to obtain a russian visa, but with great difficulty. While in germany i was told that i had to be a resident of the country to apply there. After I came to this site I saw that germany was the one exception to the general rule about applying at a consulate anywhere. Now I am in bulgaria and have been told the same thing. That i must be living in bulgaria to apply. There is advice on a way around this, but it seems to be quite a hassle. I have seen someone apply in poland as a citizen of australia, so i know its possible there. My next stop is romania and if I am told it's impossible there I am in real trouble in terms of time. Has anyone applied at the office in bucharest or one in ukraine? Does anyone have any advice since i can't send my passport off to an agency to be processed b/c i need it to travel? |
