Hi,

I am trying to work out my itinary for the Trans-Mongolian route (from moscow to Bejing) and want to make a stop over in Ulan Baatar. I'm am trying to find out on which days the train from Ulan Bataar to Bejing leaves and at what time. Some travel agencies and internet sites (including www.seat61.com) say the train departs on thursdays (and sometimes on friday during summer). According to the train ticket page on this site however the train will leave only on saturdays.

Can anyone tell me if the timetable on this site is up to date and if the train still leaves only each saturday?

Hope someone can help. Kind regards.

It leaves on Thursday and in the summer there may be a Saturday trainMy concern is whether you need tickets in advance. We re planning to go in July Transmanchurian to Ulan ude, then to Irkutsk and back fro Irkutsk to Ulan Batar by train. If you do not get the thrursday train you can fly for almost the same money www.miat.com.
