Someone please help...
I went through a russian travel agency in Edmonton, Canada. (Where i live) and they are getting me a visa and documentation for my trip. I went through them cause I am sure being a russian travel agency they know what there doing, but i dont!!!
But the thing is I am not staying at a hotel, I am staying at a friends apartment. I have been reading every where that they require a adress of the hotel where I will be staying at, on my card that i fill out on the plane. What do i write down!!?? And also I have been reading that I need to register this visa when I arrive there. If I am not staying in a hotel then where do i register it.?? I live soon....someone help. ANXIETY!

The migration card that you fill out on the plane does not require you to put down your address while in Russia. There is a very small blank for you to fill in the "name of host person or company."
You need the name and address of a company in Moscow that will register your visa for you. The travel agency in Canada should be able to provide you with this because they probably used one in obtaining your visa.
Once you have the name and address of this company, you will need to go there as soon as possible once you arrive, and absolutely no later than 3 days after. For a fee, maybe 50 USD, they can register you using the address of their office and the information on where you're staying will not be printed on any of your documents. You can also use this company's name on that little blank on the migration card that you fill out on the plane.
So, call your travel agency and get a name and an address! Directions wouldn't hurt either. |
