|
|
I have arranged a meeting with a citizen of the Russian Federation (RU) in Paris, France. This person has never traveled outside RU before. She tells me that in order to obtain a Visa to leave the RU for this meeting in Paris, she must have an invitation from me.
I have never dealt with a situation like this before, and neither has she. So we are at a loss as to what this "Invitation" should be (Special form? Special wording?), and who it should be from (I live in the U.S. and it doesn't make sense that France would allow me to "invite" someone from RU to visit their country).
Can anyone tell me what I should be doing to get this "Invitation" issue addressed? The meeting is set for April 27.
Thanks in advance for any help!

| As you understand well, it's very unlikely that you can provide an invitation if you are not a resident of France. If you have French contacts, they might provide the invitation for a business trip. In other cases, I would suggest that she simply travels on a tourist visa, and books a trip and hotel at a reliable travel agency in Russia. In that case she doesn't need your invitation. |
