Way to Russia announces a revolutionary service: web phone. You can now connect any two phones in the world from your browser. And save money, too. It works in the way that the both phones receive an incoming call and get connected. So you can have your UK mobile connect to a landline in Russia for 14? (8 pence) only, or your landline in Netherlands to a landline in the US for 2?.
What's more is that it's a great toy, too. Make your sister talk to your father, your friend talk to your local Pizzeria, Mr Bush talk to Mr Putin (all the above is not recommended for legal purposes).
The service is available through http://waytorussia.net/Practicalities/WebCall.html |

I don't really get how this service works. That is, I get how it works but how does it save me money? Calls start at 2 cents a minute but what do they go up to? How much would it cost, for example, to call Canada from Moscow?
Oh, I'm so confused... |

| Brian, look at Talk Broadband with Primus Canada. $0.10 a minute with all this hassle or phone cards. |

But for me, even though this service saves money, the most interesting thing is that you can connect any two numbers. Yesterday I connected two of my friends who haven't talked for maybe 6 months or so... A great toy, I think... |

But generally, people do not like phone cards or having to go online to connect, but they just want to pick up the phone and dial.
This is America. Give me Convienence or Give me Death. |

I buy the phone cards when I need to call russia here in New York. I can talk hours on one $5 card. I take that over convenience. |

Paul, it seems like you want to challenge every service I post about. Like we here don't know what the west needs so we post about crap services that are not convenient. Is th If that's your goal to prove it, don't read further and don't come to this forum as well, because everything I post about is crap.
Otherwise I just want to say that this service is not intended to compete with any discount offers you have from your fixed line providers. It's a new service that allows you to connect any 2 numbers in the world and I think it's mainly interesting because of that.
It also allows you to make phonecalls much cheaper if you call to any country in the world (2.5c USA - Russia) and you can access it through a web interface or by dialing a special access number if you're in the USA. |

| This may be good and I will certainly try it out when I get home to Australia. I like phone cards they are way cheaper than the mainstream providers and if you programe all your details into your phone it is not much different than dialing direct.'s all A couple of extra buttons to push thats all. |

Do they have a proper telematic license in Russia to provide international calls? |

| Why? Are you from telecom ministry? They don't need it but I'm sure the providers they outsource in Russia do. |
