Hi,

I'm a little confused about the airports in Moscow. We will be transiting through Moscow on our way to Uzbekistan. Our flights will be on Aeroflot. Will the arrival flight (either from London or Frankfurt) and the departure flight to Uzbekistan be at the same airport (Sheremetyevo 2)? If not, would a transit visa be required to change airports?

Thanks

Neil

Look for the code SVO2 on your tickets or ask your travel agent.

If your Uzbeki leg is on Aeroflot it will be from Sheremetyevo 2, and you won't need a transit visa.

True, you should look at your tickets, they will have the airport codes on them.

But Aeroflot flies ONLY out of SVO2 in Moscow. Only.

For a connecting flight of less than 12 hours, technically you won't need a transit visa. But be advised that if you spend 12 hours and 20 minutes at Sheremyetovo airport you are in the country illegally and that can, and does, lead to serious consequences. Russian passport control is not to be messed with.

My advice to anyone and everyone is to ALWAYS get a transit visa. They're pretty easy to get, cheap, and cover your ass for 3 days in Russia. The best insurance you will ever buy. Get_the_transit_visa.

Read about transit visas here at the bottom of the page: http://waytorussia.net/RussianVisa/Types.html

Really? Even if you don't plan on leaving SVO?
