|
|
Hi!
I will be entering Russia(Vladivostok) by train from Harbin in China and then travelling across the country to St. Pete.
Will I be able to change Japanese Yen (JPY) at Russian banks, particularly at Vladivostok? And if so would the rate be so inferior to the USD?
Or, am I being too paranoid, maybe?

plancia,
Measure how the Yen is doing against the Euro or Greenback and forget taking Yen, change it. Vladivostok -> Moscow is a long 7 days. I dunno if Vladi banks would exchange Yen, but how much time do you have to find out? Take Greenbacks (pristine ones!!!) or a cirrus/maestro/visa card and find an ATM. Spare yourself the rod!
enjoy

I am sure they will accept Yens and the rate should be quite reasonable, because there are many people there going to Japan to buy cars, so Yens are popular in Vladivostok |

Many banks in Vladivostok (not sure about other parts of Russia) will exchange to/from Japanese Yen. Here is a link where you can check current exchange rates:
