I have been with my Russian girl for over a year. I have decided to move to moscow, I have completed CELTA and DELTA courses and have been offered work last time i was over in febuary.

We have decided to wait until end of this year or early 2008 until I move so i can save as much money as i can!

I am also looking to maybe buy a 4x4 and driving to Moscow (on my last journey) with all essential things i can bring from home. I was wondering how do i go about Tax on car etc..etc..? Has anyone done this? I find it would be cheaper than buying in Russia.

Also....what are the formalities of my move? as me and my girlfriend will want to rent a flat and want to get married. How do i aquire a visa to actually work there? I know most companies will help gain a Visa.

Just want some advise, maybe from English people who have allready moved to Russia with their Girl.

Thanks V. Much for reading!

Andy

Driving from where precisely?
I don't recommend importing a foreign car into Russia.
Read the posts about bringing foreign cars into Russia on this site and about foreigners buying and selling cars in Russia and you will understand. If you still want to do it, it will take alot of time and money - far more than the easiest way - which is to buy the car in Russia in your girlfriend's name.

Your pm seems to have disappeared into the internet from my mailbox. I currently live in London although spent 5 years in Russia and still visit every year almost. If you decide to drive, scandinavian route is best for first timers, as the locals all get forced to learn english in school. Quickest route via warsaw / vilnius / M9 / Moscow - 3 days from London.
