|
|
I propose to do this transfer on a Thursday afternoon in a few weeks.
Scheduled landing at SVO2 (KLM) is at 1450, then to clear immigration and get luggage.
Scheduled take-off at VKO (KMA) is 1850. (less 50 mins to secure reservation) = 1800 hrs
What is the likely drive time, given day and time?
Is it do-able? Shall I book my flights. |

Close shave. I wouldn't try it.
SVO2 has the worst, grumpiest, slowest passport control in the world. At that busy time of day with lots of flights coming in, you could be standing in line for hours (seen it) just to get your passport entry stamped. Then Vulknovo is still an hour or more away (depending on traffic). I would hazard to guess that you stand a high probability of missing your connecting flight. |

I have confirmed my worst suspicions, having trawled the web for days for information.
What if arrived 1 hour later at DMO (with SN Brussels)? Their ability to process incoming passengers is reputably much quicker. (sometimes 15 mins I have read).
Still very iffy? |

Later? I.e. landing 1550 and at 1800 you need to be in VKO? I would not try it either. Jut imagine if some VIP from government / foreign guests decides to use VKO-3 effectively locking all traffic aroung VKO ( that happens ). |

Plan B then.
Pricier nightflights from Heathrow with Aeroflot, but, also Aeroflot onto Minvody with through booking, which is a plus.
I've spent all my flying years avoiding the hell that is Heathrow, and now I must succumb. I at least hope it is painless.
I thank you all for your advise. |
