Hi,
I'm going from Moscow to Irkutsk in October. Will travel in 3d class, platzcart, but don't know which train yet.

Which of these two trains is the best; 002-Rossiya or 004 (Trans-Mongolian)? Most clean, safe, best staff and so on.

Anyone that knows?

/Johanna

I don't believe either have 3rd class. In addition, they are international trains - meaning that (unless you're going to Mongolia), you can't start on those trains.

Somebody much more train-savvy than me will chime in and offer options, I'm sure.

You're right, there are no 3d class on those trains. Was offered a 3d class ticket on train 010-Baikal, anyone that knows if this is a good train?

Is it any difference in standarad between 004 (Trans-Mongolian) and 002-Rossiya?

Third class is just that, the bottom of the pile.

You won't have luxury, you might have fun and you will get to where you want to go.
