reen Frequent Guest Joined: 10 Feb 2005 Posts: 15	Posted: Thu Feb 10, 2005 2:55 am    Post subject: need an apartment hi. my husband and i are coming to st. petersburg for a month sometime between the middle of june and end of july. we're looking to rent a basic studio apartment in a reasonably nice (though not necessarily central) part of the city. as we're both students, our absolute max budget is around $500. we're also considering possibly renting a dormitory room at one of the universities during their vacation time. if anyone knows where i can find info on this, please let me know. if you have an apartment that you would like to rent out for this time, please e-mail me at reen@popstar.com. thanks. reen

reen Frequent Guest Joined: 10 Feb 2005 Posts: 15	Posted: Fri Feb 11, 2005 11:53 pm    Post subject: ok. that doesn't help me at all. i've been to pretty much every single site advertising apartments. most of the listings are very run-down looking. that would be ok if the owners/agencies weren't charging what i'm currently paying for a modern one-bedroom apartment in central london. i wonder what percentage of these flats are empty at any one time. anyone know? let me try this again. i'm looking for something other than what is advertised on all the popular site. perhaps someone is going on holiday for 3-4 weeks around mid june-mid july and would like to rent out their apartment at a reasonable rate. or maybe someone is interested in staying in our flat in london at the same time. most home exchange sites do not have russia as an option. i'm open to any reasonable suggestions. a $400/month run-down flat at $70 a day is not reasonable. $2100 a month? tokyo is cheaper than that.

I have quite a good experience in finding accommodation for Petersburg's guests and I would definitely recommend you to contact a small but very courteous and traveler-friendly company known as STN -Apartment Rental Service. I have seen somebody in this forum mentioning this company, who is renting a flat with them and I hope, they would help you as well to solve the lodging problem - or at least they would advise you something
