My husband and I have booked a cruise on Star Princess to St Petersburg. One of the shore excursions on offer is a visit to the ballet at the Conservatoire Theatre which we would love to do but I have multiple sclerosis and use a collapsible wheelchair (although I am not confined to it and am able to walk short distances and climb stairs (slowly). But we understand that because of this we would be unable to do this trip with "Princess" and wonder if there is any way we would be able to book a trip to the ballet (including transport to and from the Conservatoire Theatre) independently. We do not know if there are lifts in the theatre in which case we wonder if we could perhaps book seats on the lower levels of the theatre to avoid climbing too many stairs. Would it be possible to safely leave the wheelchair in the foyer.

Any advice that could be given in this respect, as well as any guidance on visiting St Petersburg in a wheelchair would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks.
