hi milliebud
which agency did you use to book the room?

I booked with select-a-room, and they told me all the rooms with kremlin view are fully booked during Xmas and new year.

hi thanks for your reply

I was staying in hotel rossya last year. but by then, I was in standard room.
I mean ' standard' , if my memory is right, there are no kattle or tea maker in the room,. but you do get bottle of hot water in each day and you can ask for more if you need. there are cable TV, but channles are basic. BBC, CNN, but no MTV am afriad. shower was really powerful, even hurt your skin.

I donot know how about renovated room, assume it should catch up with western startand a bit. Will find out this time in russia.

there are many resturant inside the hotel. if you can find the way back to your room after the dinner.
I sugguset you not to eat in the hotel. if you are tourist or first time to russia, why not go to some local resturant and try some real russian food?

Tips: donot forget to ask for a hotel map in check-in desk. incase you get lost inside the huge building.

PS Have you bought any special winter wearing for russia? never been to moscow in winter time

Please don't go to Hotel Rossiya. Go to some other hotel- if you can't afford western style hotels, please follow my advice and go to Moscow's Travellers Guest House. I stayed two nights at a renovated room. I must say that the location (and views) are unbeatable. BUT: The restaurant couldn't be worse and its all pretty run down. Yeah. finding your way around the hotel will cost you several minutes.

I stayed in a renovated room for four days again during christmas.
the bath room seems clean and better than B&Bs in england.
but there is no kattle in the room, so you have to get hot water from the receptionist if you want to make a cup of tea.
View again unbeatable. this time I got a room with full moscow river view.
and seems when I was there, the hotel is full of children , they are going to kremlin for some celebration. so the security is much tight than it used to be,
there are at least three policemen in every entrance.

but found it is still much easy to bring someone in, considering there are four entrance.

again, Hotel Rosssiya is not that bad as some people said. it is reasonable priced. room is clean. although the service may not good, and the chance to recieve a smile is slim, what you really need is just a comfortable room to sleep at night (if you go for clubbing). most of your time will spend outside the hotel.

so whats the defferent between Marriot Grand and Rossiya?
