Hello all,

My lady from Russia and I work in the same industries and I we had planned to meet in her home town in Russia before I continued my trip to London to exhibit at a trade fair in March.

I am Australian and her boss had previously decided that her company will not be attending this fair, but this morning he rang her from another country to say " Natasha, I think you should now go to London".

She rang me this morning to tell me this and I am very excited to hear that we can have more time together. But I have just spoken to her now and she is seeking information as she is on bus to her parents vilage for the weekend.

She has a business visa to travel to Germany as we met there 2 years ago.

My question -

What is the easiest/quickest way for her to obtain business visa to UK?
Does the exhibition company hosting the fair need to provide a letter as this will not be a problem for me as I am exhibitor..
She attends exhibitions in Germany, would this give her better chance?

Any feedback is appeciated.

Many thanks Tony

Natasha requires a visa issued solely by the British Consulate, here is the website address...

It is normally necessary to apply in person (Moscow/SPB/Ekat') and refusals to give visas are high, that is Britains policy... it really can be tough... so she will need officially notorized documents and I would have thought her employers ought to be involved with the application - certainly her request for a visa will not be granted unless her employers demonstrate everything by documentation and in the greatest detail... Shocked

BTW... Britain is not a signatory to the Schengen treaty, that means a visa for Britain is not valid for other EU countries and vice-versa... Confused

Good luck...

Thank you skip.

I would have thought also that the company would assist her but the boss is away and did not indicate how she would get visa. So she is just using initiative and asking me to find out while she is away for the weekend.

Another client of mine from Moscow has since given me help as well and the information I have should ensure that at least she has enough knowledge of the documentation she needs to provide to gain a visa.
