Has anyone tried getting a visa at the Russian Embassy in Prague? Just wondering if it is possible to get one in a day and how much it costs?

I am a US citizen and obtained a visa in Prague last July. I used a travel agency there and they were able to do it in a day. However, I had a invitation already (through this website) - it didn't matter that the embassy I was supposed to use was Washington,D.C. Please also be aware that the embassy there is not open every day - that's my understanding anyway. The cost was about $200. USD for this expedited (1 day ) service which included whatever profit the travel agency made. The owner of the travel agency spoke good English but unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the agency. Good luck!

I am a US citizen, and I obtained a 30 day tourist visa in Prague in May of 2002. The Russian Embassy is only open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and I think the hours are limited to mornings (although I am not sure what they are). My visa was about 80 dollars, but I used the two day service (I applied for the visa on Monday and picked it up on Wednesday). However, I think I might have been treated better than the usual American tourist because I can speak Russian.
