[size=12]Firstly I'd like to say GREAT SITE! It's the best I've come across for travellers and tourists alike, all credit to the WTR team.
Secondly, I have a couple of questions I haven't been able to find solutions to,
1. In february I hope to be travelling UK to Moscow to Vladivostok to Niigata (travelling across on a business visa), everything seemed on track, except the ticket to Japan. I have been unable to book a ticket (flight or ship) while in the UK, even though I have found a flight leaving Vladivostok (Vlad air) in early march.
And that leads me to the real problem - I have read that without showing my ticket to leave Russia I will not be allowed entry into Russia. Is this true? if so any help would be greatly appreciated.
2. Does a Business visa, once registered at the first place I stay, really give me free roam around Russia or is it not really that simple?
Off subject:
3. Can I just book a ticket on the T/S from Irkutsk to Vlad once I'm in Irkutsk? It seems to have to be booked in advance, but that could be difficult for me.
Thanks for any advice anyone can give. |

Hi! Thanks for the credits.
1) I don't think you will have a problem entering on a business visa and not having a return ticket. This could be a problem for a tourist visa (even though, I'm more certain that it wouldn't either). In the end, all depends on the customs officer who checks your documents when you enter the country, but there's not a specific law that says you should have a ticket back. So, don't worry about that. In case they require a ticket, you can always tell them you're going to buy one to Tallin from Eurolines (how would you get it from abroad?!).
2) If you register your business visa in the company that issued your visa support and this registration is made on this company (not on a hotel in Moscow, for example), then it should be OK. Just make sure about this beforehand. Also, note, it takes long to register a business visa, about 14 days, so if you're going to stay less in Moscow, you better find a different option. For example, registering it in every hotel you stay in.
3) Yes, you can. The good trains are booked in advance, but there a lot of other trains, and anyway, one place will be easy to find. Just do it a few days before and you'll be fine. |

To book Vladivostok Air tickets in Moscow, you can simply call their representative. If you have any problems, you can also contact our travel agency at farid@studyrussian.com, we have organized such tickets for travelers before. Note that sometimes (especially in winter), Vladavia flights from Vladivostok are cancelled on short notice, so planning a few days to stay in Vladi definitely helps..
Good luck
