"Government of the people, by the people, for the people". If you claim to be a representative democracy the the government is, by definition, the representation of the people.
>>The USA is my country
So you are not Polish and consequently not European? OK, I misunderstood that. I thought you had some involvement with our continent, but I was clearly mistaken.
>>How'd you like it if I was saying the same about your country? You'd >>fucking hate it.
Oh I would agree with you.
>>What do you want me to do?
Admit that your country sucks right now?
>>Be the "good minority"? Smile, nod, applaud and cheerfully join these >>verbal attack sessions? Forgive me for being able to think for myself >>and for having something good to say about my country.
Ah, a 'patriot'. Oops ...we have been here before . Being able to 'think for yourself' means being able to not give a damn about the nationality, religion, sexuality or whatever associated with a given point of view. It means stepping beyond that.
>>And for the last time, we didn't elect George II.
Errrr ....yes .....you did. The first time you didn't, but the election ws rigged. This time ....YOU REALLY DID

Sorry, the USA is one of my countries.
Thinking for yourself means not going with the prevailing trend, not saying what's popular at the momment, not repeating after everyone else but standing up for what you really think and believe. So that you'll be able to defend your country against some truly undeserved and unfair bashing sessions.
And this election was a fraud as well.Key voters were blocked from the polls once again, only it wasn't reported. What can you expect with electronic voting, votes can disappear and appear like magic. |

Dear Polska,
I admit I am not at current about Vortek?s posts too much.
Anyways, no, I was nt bashing you and sure know that there is a near-to-mayority of Americans who are condemned to live with a government THEY did not choose! There is a great website about it, "we feel sorry com " or something like that where plenty of Americans post their glad feelings about their country and their sad feelings about their government.
No, don t be so sensible about it. Nobody is putting everything in a pot here. And yes, you are right other governments have their flaws, mine, too, and we can t possibly hold individual nationals responsible for the misdeeds of their government.
Cheers to all. |

| Thanks. Yeah, the site is to apologize to the rest of the world in advance for what Bush is going to do to them. But honestly, we need to feel sorry for ourselves right now because whatever he's gonna do to to the rest of you, that's nothing compared to what he's done to us already. |

You mean you have dual nationality and two passports, yes?
>>Thinking for yourself means not going with the prevailing trend, not saying >>what's popular at the momment, not repeating after everyone else but >>standing up for what you really think and believe.
Agreed, so long as you don't fall into the trap of assuming that because something is the 'prevailing trend' it is also automatically false.
>>So that you'll be able to defend your country against some truly >>undeserved and unfair bashing sessions.
You're slipping into a false premise there. You are starting with the assumption that 'defending your country' is something you automatically should be doing. This is, of course, closed minded thinking. You have to first critically evaluate whether the object of an attack 'deserves' it before making any decision regarding defence, neutrality or even joining the attack yourself. Assuming that your country is automatically deserving of your defence is a manifestation of 'Patriotism', and we already discussed that topic (Patriotism begets Nationalism begets Militarism begets Facism).

True, the vote rigging this last time was more professional than the hopeless farce his brother presided over in Florida last time however, even allowing for that, it is pretty certain that he really did get close to 50% of the popular vote.

Then you haven't read most of Vorteks' posts.Until he changed his song right now, he made a ton of hateful, biased and mean-spirited comments about America and its people on the "Please leave WTR Winston" thread. I was fighting tooth and nail on that thread to prove to him that individuals can't be judged by their government.

False premises again. You should really read those posts babushka to find out by yourself what they contain. Here is a link to the thread. http://www.waytorussia.net/TalkLounge/viewtopic.php?t=2549&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=105
Spare your smooth teeth and nails for freeing USA from its current paranoid megalomania and control your own pavlovian patriotic reflexes.
May be one day, you ll learn what objectivity means. May be this day you ll also have learnt that America is not USA, but that day is still far away |

Ok, will do so .
America/ US - yeah, I confess, got a lesser mark once in geography for not respecting the difference of these two terms. Sorry for ignorantly misplaced words. |
