I am interested in seeing peoples opinions here regards how they like to access material on the internet
Because this forum has members who need Russified Computers and may not solely be exploiting Western European or US Character Sets it's going to be very interesting to see what choices of browser are employed.
Microsofts Internet Explorer is of course omni-present in virtually all Windows builds and cannot truly be removed from anything built after Windows 95b, but there are other browsers and many are quite popular
If you could say why you like whatever browser you use it would be really good too, we are all different and all have different needs and preferences. |

IE 6.0 SP2, Netscape 7.2, SeaMonkey 1.8b1, Firefox 1.0, K-Meleon 0.9 and Opera 8.0b1. IE came with Windows and the rest are free downloads. I like to view websites with different browsers for comparison.

The dirtiest word in the browser business... l've had more shit happen with Opera than ANY other piece of browser software...
Like the fact Opera stand strongly on the point that you can import and export IE bookmarks without a qualm... and you throw on Opera, import them... update them... erase your original favorites folder content somehow (who cares... because Opera can export to IE again...)
After a few tantrums with Opera itself you decide it is nothing but an appalling Scandinavian piece of shit software and you try exporting your bookmarks back to IE... but Opera cannot do what it says on the box and your bookmarks are terminally corrupted and you have to reload them all manually... I think I am talking around about v7.54... so not very long ago... and it is the biggest piece of crap anyone could make the mistake of trusting... best days work I ever did was to throw it out and if I had actually paid the $40.00 asked for it then a few very strong words would have been directed at the Opera Devs on their forums...

| I also use Firefox, and I never will go back to IE. It is so secure, it is very hard to ger spyware, and I havent got a single pop-up. In combination with Service Pack 2, using the internet on my computer is very safe. Now, this laptop I'm on right now will be replaced by a new one very soon! I'm sick of not being able to play The Sims or Star Trek Voyager Elite Force. |

Mostly i use either firefox or konqueror, on a suse linux platform. the choice for konqueror is because of the integration with the KDE wallet application, which enables me to forget my own passwords occasionally for forums like this one and still being able to log in
for both browsers this forum runs okay. in general firefox gives less incompatibility problems than konqueror, which actually has it's value mostly as powerful file manager. |
