Someone had to ask sooner or later. Besides, we all hate each others guts so bad, so why dont we try to find out where we live so we can come and kill each other in person.
Where in Russia are the Russkies on this forum do you live? Where does everyone else not in Russia live? Where in Russia would you like to live? Katyara: you said you're on a island?
As for me, i'm in Baghdad by the bay

| If you are referring to Affirmo 1314, there is a Kenai in Alaska. |

El Casey hails from the (not so) sleepy village of Melbourne, Florida. A mere 54 miles due South of Kennedy Space Center, this burgeoning suburban paradise specializes in elitist class division (beachside vs. mainland), low-paying non-union jobs, and an elderly population bursting at the seams.
But, come August 20 or so, I'll be living in Moscow until July 2006. No one should hate me yet, I haven't been here long enough. |

Hot darn! My uncle lives in Melbourne. I was there in 1996. Went around the whole Brevard county up to Daytona Beach/Kenedy Space Center to plastic Orlando and Disneyworld. Didn't really like it either. Congrats that ur getting outta there and off to Moscow.

Wow, small world after all! I've been to Orlando plenty, obviously, and never liked it much. It's the closest thing to a "big" city around, and it's just a massive suburban sprawl that gets about three decent bands per year come through.
And Paul, I have no doubts about the culture shock, but I was lucky enough to participate in a foreign exchange to Germany in 1996. Had it been western Germany I doubt it would've been much different, but I lived the whole time (except last 4 days in Berlin) in an old Soviet-style apartment (TINY) in Gotha, Thüringen in eastern Germany. It was still quite economically depressed, but I had an absolute ball and learned SO much German (which I promptly forgot upon returning home ).
I have no illusions that Moscow will be "just like home" but I can honestly say that I'm happy about that! The lack of seats on Russian toilets (or lack of bloody flush toilets entirely!) is literally my biggest worry. |

Currently in Moscow, Russian Federation (Metro Dynamo by the church and the Zhukovsky academy in the 8 story yellow brick building )
From Omsk, Russian Federation (On Krasnyi Put' in the 9-story brick building at the bus/trolleybus station - Ulitsa Robinovicha )
Hope that helps anyone with any assasination attempts
Notice how I did not give the code for the front door That - you have to find out on your own...just like the apartment number!
Vic
P.S. Comrade - wanna trade? |

There's nothing wrong with the Bay Area, E! If for some reason I end up having to return to the US for "good" (or at least semi-permanently), then I'll be doing my damnedest to move to SF! Then again, being a geek and an Internet junkie, I like the idea of basically the entire city being one huge Wi-Fi hotspot. |

I live in suburbian part of Moscow City. I live in a beautiful russian town Noginsk (36 miles from Moscow eastern). I like this place, atmosphere and living with my family and friends. But I used to go to my work in Moscow everyday.
Earlier I lived at Novomoskovsk town, Tula region. More earlier - at Polyarniy settlement, Chukotka region. There were 500 miles to Anchorage, Alaska and 7000 miles to Moscow |

Its getting too expensive here Casey. FL is a bargain compared to CA. Cost of living here is the highest on the continent. I would seriously start saving up now if you want to consider moving here. St. Pete is not only georgeous, but much MUCH cheaper by comparison.
But the Wi-Fi is cool. I was able to pick up a signal on the 3rd floor of a brick building downtown and again in a middle of a park in the haight. It was full strength and everything and I didn't pay a dime. Isn't that rad? |

God, I miss St. Pete! When I was in college there, I used to live in a dorm on Vasilevsky Island. Now I'm working in Moscow. Before Russia I grew up in Hawai'i and went to college in Seattle. |
