We'd better ask the nominees involved directly if they want to be moderator. As you see a few people who were nominated said they wanted out. Camrade and Intourist, are you guys up for it?
Alice, is it possible to change some options available to make polls? The poll only allows 10 options and 1 vote per login. For such a purpose I think it's limited.
P.S. It's good to have you back. Hope you'll deal with the mess down here... we had a rough time while you were gone  |

If i'm correct, a moderator has no control over the possibilities of the polls.. as he/she has no access to the forum's administrator control panel. (But maybe alice somehow has?)
Not sure if even with administrator rights much can be done about it. The phpBB program will have it's limits too.
In addition to a moderator it might be wise for Dmitry to find a trusted second admin maybe too as he seems quite busy lately and some basic ban control would releave the mods of repeatedly deleting rubbish from the forum.
Instead of deleting all of affirmo's messages over and over again, a few clicks by the admin would remove such a bot for good. |

Some people (however I don't) in this forum think that Vic is too biased and nationalistic and that wont go down too well with them.
I say we should nominate El-Casey, Rick, or Sputnik. They're all unbiased, they aren't in any of the cliques that have formed in here. They all said the most enlightening things in here i've read about site quality so far and Rick and Sputnik seem to have the technical know-how and expertise that would be handy and the most useful.  |

shouldn't focus too much on 'technical know-how' and 'expertise'. moderating the forum is technically not much more challenging than posting on it.
believe i read one of alice's posts before in which she complained getting tired off deleting affirmo1034's posts all the time. indication that the actual problem is maybe not with the absence /shortage of moderators.
e: funny sharp remark btw on affirmo. i suggest we keep 'him' as a kind of 'forum-pet'. on the 'lighter' parts of the forum he won't harm much, except for driving a few moderators crazy.. |

E, you are obvious not with it. There is no such cliques as you say, but if you have on this forum for a while, you notice tendencies for each person. But you can have your conspirancy theory. Your judgement on IT skills on what is posted is big assumption. Frankly, you know jack sh*t about many people's abilities for computers.
Rick has just joined. Sputnik is not always here.
Why one moderator/Admin?
Camrade & Mediashark are more frequent users of this forum. Take more than one moderator/admin. You can split the duty up. |

The way i've seen you and Cyndy as well Cyndy and others gang up on Vic, me and others, i'd beg to differ.
Sputnik actually comes in a lot and so does Rick. They just stay out of most of the popular threads like the poltical-pissing wars and the Winston bashing and posts his own comments and I have yet to see either of them say anything bad about anyone. Including Winston. BTW I read in a previous post that Sput was once an admin and moderator hence what I meant by "technical expertise". El-casey has actually tried to break up fights before.
Coming in and contributing the least makes you the more immune and the most disgusted at the people and the fights who come in regulary. That's prefect as neutral moderator.
