I would like to visit Moscow and find some unique items from Russia to import and sell in New York City. How does one go about finding business relationship with Russian companies or Russian businessmen? Thank you.

You will notice that there is a HUGE Russian community in New York. Probably the biggest outside Russia. Read the forums and you might come up with an idea. Another thng is that Russia has unique laws to protect antiques and certain national articles.

Maybe I missed something but I didn't find any helpful info on Russian import or business opportunity (also much of information is in Russian -- very few in English).

If you check the forum, there is usually someone complaining about something they would like from home. For instance, expats from USA complain about the lack of peanut butter in Moscow. Quality is bad and it is rare to find. So there is an opportunity for such a product in Russia. Use www.translator.ru and some patience, you might find something that Russians in New York would like to have. I am not saying it is guarentee, but there is a chance.

Sirok is something that is quite tasty. There are stuff that you can copy the style in the US like Sirok(chocolate covered Cheesecake). They have this cheese that is loaded with salt, but is good in limited dosages. Specialized Sausages and meats. Different styles of clothes.

I'm not a business person and I can only help someone to buy furs solely from the consumer side: Some consumer info: http://www.passportmagazine.ru/article/22/ You can also try scouting around for second-hand furs. You could land yourself some good deals. I would buy them myself, but even a down-feather coat can be costly for me!
