The moon is certainly exotic but I was kind of hoping you would focus more on your magnificient city rather than some rwlatively unknown abstract place in space. SPB has a reputation for being incredibly romantic after all. But it's not my date unfortunately. BTW do they have dating services in SPB and I am not referring to women seeking American husbands and vice versa. BTW Comrade, I bet the Hermitage has some very beautiful and sensuous rooms.

Polska,
Comrade appears to me any ways as being perhaps the most sincere so far. BTW El Casey, get on the stick if you want to be included here!
Comrade honey, I know white nights in SPB are romantic. You need to communicate this to beautiful Polska. Gee, I really should be a match maker! Smile Smile Smile

This has become rather amusing, but I will probably fall desperately behind. Like an idiot, I agreed to take a full time job at a friend's company (who is also a close business associate) to help him out while he went on vacation. I'd literally forgotten how insanely much time a job eats up in a person's life! Shocked

Anyhow, I am indeed tall and brunette, but I'm a pretty large-framed fellow. Not overweight, but very definitely not skinny.

Camrade, perhaps the solution is to lobby the Russian government to move the Hermitage to the moon? Cool

I can answer that Embarassed
There are MORE than enough dating services. If you really do not have the time - it may be worth a shot. The web-based ones are free (most of the time) so that could work. Just search it on yandex or rambler and you would get alot of matches for your particular city. I cannot speak for St.Petes really but I can speak for Moscow and Omsk (The latter being a city of 1.5 million and having alot of these sites...so big chance that St.Petes will have more Wink )
No, I never actually used them, had a friend who was "very in to it"...he did find a attractive girl that he did like through it...but she turned out to be a bit too..."upper class" for him so it did not last for more than 2 months. I think hook-ups work better in person. I guess I may be 'old fashioned'.
Vic
P.S. Way to go Comrade! Very Happy I don't even know what I can counter that one with Wink

Finally I found this thread! Hallalelluhia and I am not even too religious!
But believe me I need this light in this thread and I am not even in the running! OKAY....

El Casey, enough BS about your new job. Honey most people work so get over it. If You don't want to be a contestant, all you need to do is say so without some BS excuse. Be a man. BTW your avatar makes you look like a hit man. Shocked

Polska,
I only think of your best interest here and think we need to open up the doors so to speak in this 1st date contest. BTW I think there is another worthy contestant... You know the Russki with the Sharpka!

So anyways men, round two is coming up soon. If you still wish to be a candidate for the very beautiful and way too smart for her own age Polska, PLEASE get your 1st date proposals in. Vorteks I would really love you to take a stab at this! Smile

The reason I'm going to Russia is exactly the same reason why I'm not the kind of person who "just goes to work." My comments elsewhere regarding the empty living in the US, people who just shuffle through life as good tax-paying automotons...this is the life I cannot stand and refuse to live, hence my "shock and awe" at how bad the 40-hour work week really is. Gimme a 90-hour week anytime, but give me something to actually work for - not just "the company's profit."

Enough of that (and don't you dare complain to me about getting off-topic after the number of threads you tell some Russian how hot he is! Laughing ), and I'll take your comments re: my avatar photo as complimentary. Twisted Evil

El Casey,
What are you planning to study in Russia?
You don't think that Russians work hard?
Maybe you don't care for a house, car, vacations etc. And the fact that your single certainly gives you more freedom in this sense. You don't have to provide for anyone but yourself. But you are naive about not only Russia but life. Work is not so terrible especially if you find work you enjoy.

So you're ut of the contest right. Too much work to do.

Here it is Very Happy .

One last question for everyone. Razz Imagine you are at my apartment, or we are at yours, on our first date. And suddenly there's a blackout; Ohio's electric power grid is overrun again,Chubais crashed another power plant, Al Qaeda/the Chechens have attacked, whatever. Assume we are alone for the night. What do you suggest doing?

A) Going out and joining the loudest, drunkest party
B) Dinner by candlelight and after that, going out onto the roof to gaze at the stars over the city for the first time. Smile
C) Other Surprised

Cyndy, you completely missed my point. The last thing I want this to become is some sort of personal issue between us (re: the work thing), but here's the synopsis:

I'm going to study Russian first (obviously, since I'm not even functional yet). Then I'll be back to pursue a degree in journalism. My point was not that I am against work for the sake of work. But I can't do (read: I'm not any good at) work that doesn't "engage" me, for lack of a better term. What I meant earlier was that I'll "work" 90+ hours per week in pursuit of a story or investigation, but I'm not the kind of guy that digs working 40+ hours per week for no goal whatsoever other than the profit of some company. The only point I'm trying to make is that "standard" work is not what I'm cut out for.

This is the last post I make in this thread, and I apologize for getting off-topic. Smile

Excuse, that I maybe, misunderstand the topic.

********************

1. But why you, cindy22, care of Jutrzenkapolska? Is she your daughter or you personal old friend?
2. Why this topic is mentioned here? Are Really at Jutrzenkapolska there no other opportunities to get acquainted with the interesting young man, shall assume through the Internet / in the area / university?

3. As the given meeting of the winner and Jutrzenkapolska if all of us live not in one city or area if it not a virtual meeting will be organized.

That are all my questions.

*********************

As I could understand correctly, firstly nominated for winner Comrade, Vic, El Casey, but in a consequence still someone mentioned (Russki with the Sharpka)

Perhaps, I such one, but am brought up enough in Russian style. The girl needs to be found out, before I something do with her further.

What shall I do on the first date with dream girl?
So, away superfluous words. We have met, you have talked also have decided to go to me.

*********************

If at me on a visit. As I live in perfect Moscow Suburbian we had to go from Moscow almost hour to my home. In the car for this time I would talk once again to her to have found out from you a little more and once again would think on what I go, contacting you.

In Moscow there is no electricity - it is awfully! OK, well, at my home is all the same comfortable.

We most likely should arrive to the empty house in which I was not since the morning. Certainly, I did not plan to make any dinner, as, when I one it is usual not eat much. It will be miracle if in a refrigerator there is beforehand prepared cut mutton soaked in vinegar or fault. I simply would spread out a mangal in a court yard and have prepared for tasty shish kebabs (It especially well as in the house there is no electricity). At the worst there will be grilled sausages. Vegetables in a refrigerator would for certain be found to meat, I would skin greens has broken simply at myself in my yard. Would get a usual bottle of red wine - a cahors wine, has a little warmed up it, has added carnations and black pepper and little has cooled. While I would prepare I have suggested her to take a shower, if she has wanted after the tired hot day. It will be very pleasant especially in the afternoon, it weakens. Then I would suggest her to have dinner in the backyard square of home in small covered table under fur-trees.

On fresh and clean air we imperceptibly would spend 2-3 hours at dinner before we have finished then I would suggest her to pass to take a walk to the beautiful moscovite river Klyazma and lake nearby. Under a red solar decline we easy would go and talked with each other. On a way to the river We would meet my friends with which I would introduce her to them. On the river it is possible to get on the small foot wooden bridge and therefrom to look down for small fishes in river as they are going to fall asleep. And around in bushes on a lawn crickets would start to chirr. From apart it was possible to observe of local fishermen with a fishing tackle. Such pleasant condition enters in a trance. On a return way I would pick to her a beautiful bouquet from field flowers and would present it to her. And if she is skilful to make the wreaths from flowers I would ask her to make it for me for memory. It would be very pleasant for me.

I think, that it would not want to her to leave home, but already darkens and it is time to sleep.
In the house it is a little having had a rest and having drunk juice I will be going to show her the collection of photos which I photoed during my life. I have very big and beautiful collection, but I would show her only elite. If she has wanted, we could move with an album of my photos on a bench under a rod of viyun and could look that at photos on the picturesque bright star sky of moskovia and to listen to chirring crickets.

Well and what is farther... Further we would go "to sleep"

And for the morning we would having a breakfast in a court yard, would a drink tea with rolls and then have to gone to Moscow to go sightseeing or to other beautiful moskovia cities such as Bogorodsk or Sergiev-Posad or Vladimir.

This is my style.
Here such simple plan.

wwwadim,
I am glad you joined this topic. This sounds very strange to you I know. Honestly we are just having a little fun here. Why do I care about Polska and her dating life? I just was amused at the idea of picturing Polska with some of the men on this site and having a date with one. Comrade was the guy I initially thought might be a good match. Then Vic and El Casey wanted to join in and there it went! But El Casey is no longer in the running.

Obviously there is probably not going to be a real in person date because of distance for one thing. So yes, we are speaking about virtual date! Polska is a good sport about this and I think she is enjoying this.

Since you are single and quite an interesting Russian man, not to mention very handsome, I encouraged you to also have some fun here. BTW if it was me, I'd choose you not only because you are attractive but I loved reading what you propose for a 1st date. You are very sweet and I like men who appreciate the simple things in life and nature. You also seem to respect women and and seem quite sincere. But that's me. I wonder what Polska thinks!
