wow! way over my budget.....that is more than the three bedroom apartment off nevsky prospect I am renting! besides, I know where I want to go, been before, I just have a russian friend with me who speaks no english, but thank you very much for the tip!!! I try really hard not to go the the tourist route as much as possible. thanks! Laughing

so for the record, I found a translator-guide that is going to work with me for $5 an hour, I'll pay meals, metro, and entrance fees...........I think this is fair and I am very happy about it! Cool

Why do you even need a translator/guide if your friend you are traveling with is Russian? And you have been there before?

My friend is Russian and speaks almost no english, so it is better if we have someone that speaks both. In the evening we will be on our own, which we have done before, but it hard to do that for six straight days. At night it is good, we get to work on each others language!
