Hi, I will be in St Petersburg this summer and was wondering if anyone knows if the northern lights are visible anywhere in or close to this area? I may visit Karelia so if they are visible there it would be nice:)

Maybe not in St. Petersburg directly, cause the city lights make the sky too bright. Maybe if you go to the countryside you'll see them. I've seen some in Novgorod region, which is near St. Petersburg.
