The Spice Girls are allright?! They the joke of the past decade. The only people who are even more of a joke then those five are O-Town Razz and William Hung Razz .

I had a friend in fourth grade who lived and breathed the Spice Girls. She was just obsessed with them, talked my ear off about them every day at lunch, bought all the merchandise etc.And when Luciano Pavarotti sang a duet with them, get this, she took the newspaper photo of it and shredded Luciano to tiny pieces and flushed him down the sink. Laughing I never dreamt I'd meet a who'd think that Luciano disgraced the Spice Girls by singing with them.

The story of your friend shredding up a photo of Pavarotti fraternizing with the Spice Goofs displays just another disturbing perspective of those past days of how F****d up things really were (and still are, to this day) . . . to not only the usual fleeting pop culture of the time, but how seriously those poor bastards really took a liking to groups of that ilk - and sadly enough, took so, so seriously. Evil or Very Mad

I once had a 27 year-old roommate in an old apartment I lived in a few years back that actually worshipped those idiots. Throughout the year, he proudly displayed a 'Spice Girls 1998' calender on the wall of his bedroom. And if that wasn't scary enough . . . It was the only damn thing hanging on that empty white wall. My God, the humanity . . .

Kingdom Come is an extremely famous band from L.A. (some call them classics of hard blues)
Frontman is a german guy Lenny Wolf. They early albums are with lots of hard blues tracks and quite nice metal Smile Perpetual is their newest album which is not like previous ones - the style is quite depressive, with low tuned guitar sound. But some songs are very nice Smile I liked 01 Gotta Move Now; and 09 Connecting Pain
However IMHO early albums are a bit better.

PS: also Johny Lee Hooker and Chuck Berry are decent guys Wink

That's a very amusing image; a bare room out of "2001: A Space Odyssey" with yards of pure white wall stretching out except for an image of...Baby, Posh, Scary, Sporty and Ginger.Or Doopey, Ditzy, Poofy, Dumb and Dumber as I call them.

Has anyone seen their movie?! Spice World?! Sick DON'T!!!

Unbelievable ! somebody who knows Kingdom Come ! Well, I used to listen them 15 years ago at least ! BTW I didn't know they were still alive (as a music band of course).

As for me : almost everything from classical to Death Metal except Rap, I tried but I can't.
Right now, I am listening to Gluecifer, a punk rock band from Norway, it is dynamite. There are others from this country I really like : Hellacopters and Turbo Negro : excellent !

Thanks for the info Comrade, I will have to check out some of there songs!

Now about the Spice Girls, I totally have to agree with you all. The Spice Girls craze I think was WORSE than the Pokemon craze! I used to crack up seeing all of those little girls screaming over the Spice Girls. Rolling Eyes

Tracey, I found an alternative to me uploading that entire t.A.t.U. CD on to the forum. If you go on t.A.t.U.’s Russian sites they have ALL of there tracks listed on the right side of the page! It is a really good collection! The link is http://taty.ru/download.html .

Enjoy!

As for me unfortunatly I ve never seen Led Zeppelin (I am too young Smile) but saw Plant/Page show 5 years ago in Paris : GREAT, GREAT, GREAT.

This may be a little off topic but I'm curious. How many American/Western bands play shows in Russia? I never see Russia on European tour dates.

2Anathema

concerts of decent western guys which I've visited (some of them): Nazareth (old but quite cool), Jethro Tull, Blackmore's night, Paul McCartney, Franz Ferdinand, Animals...
Also last 5 years St.Petersburg was visited by (which I remember): Deep Purple, Robert Plant, Pink Floyd, Chuck Berry... and from popular & modern ones: Muse, Garbage, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Dead can dance and so on.. Not saying about pop-music monsters - Whitney Huston, Michael Jackson (but his concert in Moscow was quite long ago) and others..
So, Russia doesn't lack famous western musicians.

2Polska

that's not surprising cause decent russian musicians sing in russian which can't be popular abroad
TATU is a kind of phenomenon cause they're not decent singers anyway Smile

Many years ago I used to listen a russian rock band : "The Leningrad Cowbows". They were not very popular in west Europe but known in rock circles.
