Hi ,
My finance applied and sent to me a private invitation from the OVIR, but they messed up and made it for only 30 days instead of 90. I need to be there by the 26th of May and stay for at least 75 days.
The first question is: Can my finance contact the OVIR there and them telex a correction to the Russian consulate in New York in time for me to still get this visa?
Second Question: Can I start now and get a Business in time for this date?
Third Question: If I go on a tourist visa for 30 days and then leave to a baltic state to apply for a new tourist visa instead of coming back to the U.S. how does this work? Meaning, what is a baltic state---what about the hotel voucher and letter support needed for the new tourist visa that I would apply for in the baltic state?
Scrambling--Please help!!

Private invitation is the least flexible of all, so it will be very hard, if not impossible, to change anything.
It is not possible to send telex for sure. Regarding the business visa -- this should be addressed to the Russian consulate, but generally I think what you could do is to come for 30 days that you have and while you are in Russia get a business invitation. Then, before your private visa expires, you go to one of the Baltic states (Estonia is known to be the best) of Finland for "visa-run" and apply for a business visa there. |
