Forget about placing it in the Kremlin library. If I were standing in ol' Vlad's shoes, I'd sell that little doo-dad on ebay for a hell of a lot more than 15K! Dancing

I believe that gifts above a certain value (this ring was definitely way above this value) technically belongs to the state--Putin's family, however, can purchase these gifts... can't remeber how it goes, I'm sure there's something on the web about that...

Either the Khodorkovsky types that own MosNews have struck again (regarding this being a "theft," innocent or otherwise) OR a misinterpretation led ol' Vlad to think that it was a gift, when it was indeed not. I imagine that interpreter is currently on expat.ru looking for work as a nanny. Laughing
