|
|
| I have submitted a reservation for a Moscow apartment, and was charged by rentline.ru for the fee. But after 2 weeks, I still have not heard back, and don't know whether I even have the reservation. I have emailed rentline.ru several times and left voicemails. What do you recommend I do next? Thanks. |

Oh yeah.
I had a brief chat in "Travel Advice" with belgian brian about some of the questionable practices of rentline.ru. The thread is currently sinking....no one from waytorussia stepped in to offer help or explanation. And considering that this is a linked sponsor I would expect WTR to notice and at least comment, if not try to rectify the situation.
Tell the credit card company not to pay the charge. You probably have 30 days on your card to deny the charge. Good luck. |

Thank you for letting me know about this.
As you haven't provided your order number, I wasn't able to learn what happened with your specific order. However, I contacted RentLine and asked them what could be the cause of this problem. They said that at the moment they receive a lot of requests and are getting new staff to be able to process orders more effectlively.
In any case, the money are charged from your card only if you reply back to their confirmation e-mail (that's what's written in their conditions and they confirmed that). So, if you haven't received any confirmation, your card was not and will not be charged. When you enter your credit card details during the order, the amount is pre-authorized, meaning that it stays on your card.
I will monitor the situation with the quality of customer support they provide and in case there are more complaints we will stop the advertising contract with them and find some other company.

Welcome back Dmitri!
Your new moderators have been not only holding the fort but doing an exceptional job. You should be proud.
But as this post suggests, it is time for you or whoever really manages this site to check in with vendors to insure that businesses are for real and not taking advantage of tourists who come to this site for honest, reliable information. I want to bite my tongue whwen I say this last sentence because Hello it is Russia!
BTW please tell us about your escapades to where was it- Greece I think? Glad your sorta back! Hope more is forth coming. |

Cindy, I was always on the website, so there's no need for "welcome back"
All the service providers that are advertised on this website are monitored by us to make sure they provide good quality service and they do. However, occasionally, there may be problems in their work too, and, as I said before contacting us at hotline@waytorussia.net will usually resolve any situation.
I hope you are having a good time too and are enjoying the forum.
Thanks to the moderators too, you're doing a great job! |

vitalsigns,
Regarding trainline.ru -- I asked them -- you can make a reservation (purchase a ticket, actually, as it's not possible to make reserations in Russia). They are currently updating the software, that's why the trains are not being put in the basket. However, if you just write the number of the train in the Additional Message field, they will get back to you to confirm the schedule and the price, and if you're OK with it -- they will book it for you. If you have more queries, please, contact them directly at info@trainline.ru
Thanks! |

Oy! Enough with all the mushy welcome-back stuff. The forum itself was offline for days and I had a really good break. |

There's a technical problem that makes the forum go offline from time to time. I can normally fix it very quickly, so please send me an e-mail if you notice it happens. Thanks.
Cindy, thanks for the message, I just didn't like the "Hello it's Russia" part. |
