Hi again,

Since I will visit Moscow (alone) for about 10 days I would be grateful if you advise me about some nice (are really Wink ?) dance clubs/restaurants that I have heard.

I have already picked up names such as First (Eating/Dancing) Propaganda (Dancing), Byblos (Dancing), Cabana (Dancing/Eating) and Vogue Cafe (Cafe). I am aware that I should avoid Hungry Duck and Metelitsa at all costs Twisted Evil

What about the so-called Face Control ?

Is it required tie and suit or just brand names (GFF, ARMANI etc.) for sure entrance to the above-mentioned places ?
Any proposals?

Best Regards,
Lefteri

Propaganda is a good choice, although the other two are too posh and stuck-up. I would recommend instead the club Fabrique (dance) and/or B2 (dance, live, entertainment). Vogue is too much in style and too expensive. There are a lot of other cafes around. See our Moscow Guide for addresses.

Face control exists, but is usually much easier to get through for foreigners. So, the clothes is not too important, but you should basically look like the other people in the club, sometimes it's brand-name clothes, sometimes - something else. I don't go to clubs that turn people away because of their clothes.

Hi again Very Happy ,
Dmitri, it seems to enjoy your job to this site. Many thanks again for your replies. I really appreciate it.
However I estimate Russian people as very intellectual ones I receive mixed reports about people's attitude Rolling Eyes .

For instance reading Afisha Forum site (I learn Russian ) I try to contact with people that write opinions about clubs there. I sent about 10 e-mail in Engish and only one replied. The reply was rather "firm" Question

I like when travelling to mingle with local people. Do you think I ask too much for Moscow people ?
So, pls. share with me your thoughts about it.

Best Regards,
Lefteri Very Happy

Hi,

I don't like to generalize, but Russian people are considered to be quite reserved "generally". I think if you go out and try to meet people you will succeed though, it's just that you will need to get through the first "barrier" and then it should be allright. It all depends who you talk to or which club you go to. Many Moscow clubbers are somewhat too proud, but if you go to the right (more "relaxed") places you will be sure to meet nice communicative people. As I said, Propaganda is good for that, Kult (which is near) is also good especially on Friday and Saturday nights. As you speak Russian (or at least know a few words of it), I think people will be very interested in talking to you.
