We're taking a trans-Siberian trip in September and intend to explore the surroundings of Baikal Lake during this trip. We'd proably be in the Baikal area in mid-September. If possible, we'd like to visit Olkhon Island.

Now the Baikal guide on this site warns that October is not a good time due to bad weather conditions, but is September OK?

Thanks.

Yes, September, especially early September will be OK.

Olkhon is a nice place to go.

I mailed Nikita about it about a week ago, but he hasn't responded yet. I know he connects to the internet through satellite, so I suppose he may not check his mail very often. But are you sure the mail adress is still valid?
