| I heard something on the news here about Russian news reporting very negative about the US and espically about Bush. It was said the news is daily broadcasting stories about bad things the US is doing. Sorry, can't remember specifically right now. I was just wondering if this was true and if the people there generally believe it. |

Well vitalsigns: isn't the US about the same as any other country? Except for that they are unique in having an ape for president.
Bush appears a lot in the Russian news, as does president Putin. There seems to be an emphasis on leaders. And maybe they are biased sometimes. But please don't make it sound like it is a coordinated effort by the media to bash Bush. FYI: the cold war and it's paranoia are over..
(sounds great though: Bush bashing) |

I watch russian news on two Sat channels and on the internet, and I did not find much anti Busch sentiment. Certainly less than in canadian media. I think it is a matter economic relations. Russia does no business with America. Why would they be negative?
They have enough problems with their neighbouring countries...
Cheers,
Bob |

| Hahaha!! I had to laugh at this question. The worst Bush-bashing comes from the US itself. |

| The worst advertising for Bush..is Bush himself. Anyways, removing Bush wont change anything to UsAmerican politics, since militaro energetic lobbies will still be in control and the main campains contributors, this is a very different case with Putin, since he really embodies the russian government. |

Of course, you should take into account the fact that many people in the US are simply afraid to bash Bush. If it weren't for this, the administration's scariest crime of all, those numbers would certainly be higher.

I'm sure I'll get flamed for this, but in my experience, Russians as a group seem to have an inferiority complex when it comes to Americans - anything wrong with the States tends to get blown way out of proportion here. Not that they are inferior, mind you, just a complex. I suspect it has to do with losing the Cold War. |

And on the 8th day god created the America's. He made sure to dig a large ditch around the place. A ditch consisting of 3 oceans, that was to be not only a physical, but also a mental divide with the old world. Not only would this keep it's inhabitants locked up inside the territory, but also in their minds. Amen.
God bless etc.

| I truely appreciate the talent shown by the author of the message in bringing up in a concise way what foreigners feel while facing the stiffness of some nationalist us american biggots. It has much more to do with the love of intelligence, an unevenly dealt human resource. Would you show an equivalent intelligence in your messages, you would get the same consideration back...but you can t ask a donkey to run horse races.... |

| I've no idea where you get your % figures from (5-10% in the EU) I've yet to met anyone who thinks of Bush as anything else than a bafoon and the greatest threat to world peace. As for Blair (in relation to Bush) he is seen as Bush's poodle. |

The idea of a thread of what Russians are saying of US/Bush is ludicrous. That would be like asking what Americans are saying of Russia/Putin. Most Russians and most Americans have very little interest in the politics of each other's countries. People have enough on their minds and plate with respect to getting food on their table, heating their homes, tending to there families, work etc.
This thread has evolved into something ugly. While I am far from a Bush supporter, I see here that it is not just the Bush administration that posters are referring to and criticizing.
Nigelinleeds,Vorteks etc. are incorrect that most people in the US have a mindset that evolution is not taught or respected in the school system in the states. Have you 2 clowns ever visited the states? It is indeed possible to have religious beliefs as well as appreciation for evolution.
Vorteks, you love tp preach your rhetoric oabout love of one country...,
well mon, ya don't fool anyone. Maybe , you might wannaay love of one's union...???? duh |

| I am not even sure why the US and its policies are a point of discussion on this forum which is dedicated specifically to russian culture and other russia related topics. I think people that have a lot to say can just buy an appropriate t-shirt, walk out to the street and speak out. I am sure that those anti-american sentiments will be well received by the passers by.... |
