Hi,
I read on the site something about booking/buying train tickets 45 days in advance, and I wonder if someone could clarify this for me. Does this mean you cannot book or buy Russian train tickets more than 45 days before your travel date? Does it make any difference if you are in Russia or outside Russia? Does this apply to international trains such as the trans-mongolian, or only trains within Russia? Or am I misunderstanding this?
Thanks. |

Hi,
It applies to all Russian trains -- you can not buy a train ticket earlier than 45 days before departure.
Also, you can never "book" a train ticket in Russia. If a travel agency "books" a ticket, it means they are waiting until it is exactly 45 days before your departure and then buy the ticket at the first opportunity.
