Hello all!
I hope someone can help me with this question:
I am going to traval to Kazan around the end of december and will return around the 29th. I live currently in St. Petersburg and have decided to go by train to Moscow and from there fly (I don't want to spend a full day on the train, eventhough I love riding them). My fligth from Kazan is most likely to get into Moscow Domodevo around 23:05 and then train I'd like to make at Leningradsky leaves at 1:10. I'll be travelling without any checked in luggage, so I won't have to wait for that. Is it crazy of me to think I'll make it? What options to I have (buses, taxis, metro?). I saw that the express train isn't running any more when I arrive. I'm familiar with Moscow Metro, so I should find my way around quickly...

2 hours (if all goes well) to get from Leningradsky to Domodevo? I hope you're a very lucky person. You'll need angels on your shoulder to make a transfer like that.

Your only option is to take a taxi from the train station--which is gonna cost you big time--or sprout wings and fly.

Why would you schedule something that impossibly tight? Good luck, I hope you make it.

I don't necessarily have to make it. If I miss it I can go next day or reschedule my fligth to Moscow, which is no problem. I am just considering different options that I have. If it's that difficult I quess my question was answered Laughing Thanks, by the way.Smile

Hi, I think you might make it if you take a taxi, but I don't know if it's worth it -- depending how much your ticket costs. A taxi should cost about $40. THey'll start with $100 maybe but when they see you know the price they'll put it down.

ANyway, if you don't make it for the train, you have 3 hours after the departure to refund the ticket with about a 30% fine (of the ticket price). So, if you have the ticket already, get it back when you arrive to the station or change it to the new one directly. After the first 3 hours after the departure you can't refund it anymore.

You know that you can fly directly from SPB to Kazan.
Tatarstan Airlines flies that route. It cost I think 2000 roubles one way. Cheaper for time and money.

Well I think if I have a reasonable chance of making it, it migth be worth it, because even 100$ is still cheaper (And *I* don't have to pay for it anyway as it's my parents wish that I'm home on new year's eve Cool ), than the 900$ Aeroflot charges me if I have to buy a new ticket from St. Petersburg back home.
