I'm an American citizen, and I'm going to school at St. Petersburg State University in the fall. I will be studying there for ten months. The university is arranging my invitation for a student visa. Now, a Russian friend of mine has offered to pull some strings, and find me a part-time job teaching English, so that I can earn some money in addition to my studies. My question is, "Do I need a work permit to legally have this job? Can I work and earn money in Russia with just a student visa?" Also: "How difficult is it to get a work permit, and am I allowed to have a work permit in addition to my student visa?" Who has some advice for me??
