|
|
Info: I am single, 37 y.o. - She will be 32 middle of october.
Was 2 weeks in Russia last year on a sporting holiday. Met a girl who is working as a cook. - and was hitting on her without much luck.
This year - also 2 weeks sports holiday at same place (Kolomna), she was almost waiting for me, and we had a summer love affair. She don't know english, and I don't know russian, so we did not talk much.
Left her a note, got someone to translate a letter from english to russian. She has now called me twice to declare her love, and to say her birthday is speznaze august (15. of august ?). I have considered finding a wife abroad, and have 3 friends living abroad with foreign wives, and one living here with his foreign wife.
I am very much in doubt - Local women here in a big city are often not ready to commit much energy into a relationship, and thinks all adaption must be done by the man.
Should I go on ? There are many thoughts here. All the practical stuff. I want to learn russian anyway, if I want to get married in Russia (she will probably want it) what about all the paperwork etc. In Denmark it can be done almost from the street if she has her passport and travel passport. Will she be able to live in Denmark ? To learn the language ? She probably has little or no education. This will probably allow her to be satisfied with the simpler jobs which is probably all she can get in the beginning.
I know her, yet there are so much I do not know about her. She is not from a poor family, and has a gold tooth. She lived at the sports place like half of the week. Her mother came and slept over and picked her up one night every week. So there are probably strong family bonds as well.
Any advice welcome |

You probably get 4 or 5 weeks holiday per year so I would suggest that you use the rest of it to go back to Russia when she has some holiday time and get to know her better. And meet her family in their own home. Then, if you still like her, invite her back to Denmark for a week or so. It you time it right you can get two weekends and maybe a public holiday. Then on the 4 days when you work she can look around your town on her own. This way, you both see each other's lives before making the decision.
The language is a problem because it is harder for Russians to learn Danish than it is to learn English (or Swedish) because of your accent. And It may be difficult to find Danish learning books written in Russian. Fortunately, if she learns English first, then Danish will be easier (in writing) because it is so close to English. And lots of Danes speak good English.
Be careful about advice from other people. Getting married is something that should be decided between two people. Some people might try to frighten you because of their own bad experiences but they don't know you and they don't know this woman. Beware of stereotypes, they are usually wrong when you use them to judge one individual. |
