I hope you would all want me to feel comfortable. I have my heart in Russia. Obviously abroad it is assumed "how great america is". Not many stop to think we live regular lives with regular problems too. I work for everything i have and also for everything i don't have. Give me the initiation test if it is required... i have a strong back and a good heart. I hope i will be "accepted". Soon i may live in Russia part time and i want to be able to "hold my own". -Richard- 8)

I never understand people who go on their first impulse and make a whole world view based on it. Like that american guy who wants to join the russian army and make his living in Russia. Well, ok, he is a kid. He'll grow out of it. Although some mature posters here STILL advised him to "pursue his dreams". Well...

Why don't ou just go and live in Russia for a good 5 years or so and then come back and laugh at your own posts.

Not too sure of which "american guy" you speak of here? The 62 year old CIA agent who has been operating in your contry the last 21 years, (and is currently retiring in your country with his 12 year undercover CIA agent wife), or me, who has owned a construction company in america the last 22 years turning annual figures over $150,000.00. But either way, if it is me this refers to, i want you to know that this "first impulse world view" is based off knowing the agents personally for 2+ years, while HE has already lived in your country 8 of those years. Me, like i said, own a construction company which makes enough money to retire myself in Russia. And quite frankly, i was speaking of "dual citizenship" as far as living "off and on" in Russia the rest of my life. I never have been associated with any military enlistment or service... just happened to live on the same island with the american millionaires for ten years that "backed up" to a host of military bases. And "Oh yeah", i guess it wouldn't matter that i donate a decent amount of my "taxable income" to poor Russian families because i know how hard life is there. I have been involved in giving to help Russian families 2+ years because i met a Russian who was not as narrow-minded as you seem to be, and shared truth of matters openly with me. In short... i give to Russia out of love and compassion. Tell me more... Shocked Also not too sure how this "quote thing" works... heh, heh, but i'll figure it out soon unless you have caused me to offend YOUR ignorance to the point that i am now "banned" from posting on this site.

How does one live in Russia "part time"?

You either live somewhere or you don't. Think

DUAL CITIZENSHIP. It is easily obtained by request at the Russian Consolate. It is for Americans anyway, i don't know about other countries abilityto have it. It is like having a home in Florida and one in Mexico...

Dual Citizenship allows the individual to travel to/from Russia?America without a visa because the individual with "Dual Citizenship" is now a national in both countries. Hope this helped to understand. Wink

beachbum,

Why on earth are you rambling on about some 62 year-old American CIA agent?
And why are you boasting about your millionaire neighbours on your military-paradise island?

The mind boggles..

Still,

Quote:

or me, who has owned a construction company in america the last 22 years turning annual figures over $150,000.00.

I hope the penultimate full-stop was an error, because if it wasn't, and you say you own a construction company; there is very little to be proud about on that one..

OK I will tell you more.. I think you are a liar.

If you think you know the reasons as to why you want to gain "dual citizenship" in Russia(?), then why bother trying to convice us, especially as you already conceed that these actions might get you banned from the very site that you obviously hold so dearly..?

Look, I assume you are an honest, hard working buisnessman and I am sure you can make a difference in somebody's life by investing your tax money into the russian economy.

But my point was, before you jump to so many conclusions like "dual citizenship", "retiring and living in Russian on and off" and so on, why don't you first go and live there for a coupe of years - just to test the ground and see if you like it there and want to invest your time, money and effort into a system that functions quite the opposite from anything you are used to.

That general, well, he is who he is. It's his life, but it may not be the same for you.

Xela, I think you have nailed it. I did want to tell him that I think he is not quite what he wants to make himself look like on here but I didn't.

Next thing he'll say will be: I have a billionaire uncle... whatever.
