I'm not sure if you really want to know the same thing, but I've also thougth about asking a similar question (so I won't open an extra thread). I will be going to university next fall. I've just spent six months in Petersburg and had a faboulous time... I consider doing maybe 2 semesters exchange to Russia (no definite plans yet). Is it difficult for foreigners to get into Russian universities? Do they help with visas? Is it expensive?
I speak Russian quite well now (passed the exam that is supposedly a minimum requirement for Russian universities very well) and of course plan on keeping on learning, so that won't be a problem...

Thanks in advance for any inputs! Smile

Getting in Russian universities shouldn't be very difficult. I've met students from a variety of countries (Switzerland, Iceland, USA) studying in Russia. You can find some info and contact St. Petersburg State University at: http://www.spbu.ru/e/

Applicants are supposed to pass a Russian test. The students I've mentioned learned Russian at a private language school: it's faster and more fun than Uni courses. You can find the school at: www.learnrussian.ru

BTW, what would you like to study?
