Goga Just Starting Joined: 02 Aug 2004 Posts: 8	Posted: Mon Aug 02, 2004 6:47 pm    Post subject: Some Key things to remember rule 1. all foreigners should abide by "Dont annoy (me) .' also falls under mind your business very important rule sometimes ignored. rule 2. arrogance will get you in trouble 3. please dont put stuff to cover any drink (paper , bread, etc) this usually means someone died usually a close army buddy. VERY offencive. can cause a fight patience... very important to have it. things require time. lots of time. sometimes days. money helps speed things up . overuse of the money can offend people. overgoing the speeding htings up might make a person think that u think he is a whore and money will fix everything. (relates to russian soul ) oh, we know you love your country, we love ours too, but be prepared 'to back your words up' some westerners, usually americans use words, and comments that they think they mean or they guess they want to say, but as i learned in america words dont mean much, people tend to talk a lot but do little. rule more important that any other rule. in Russia your life is worth absolutely nothing ! we dont care who you are. a sub rule to that will be "People First' and subsection to the people first rule is 'people first creatures later'

You know what, if I ever go to Russia, I'll just avoid all this by going with a large group of Americans, not talking with anyone, not looking at anyone and staying as far away from any Russians as humanly possible

bryanboy Lounge Lizard Joined: 30 Aug 2004 Posts: 90	Posted: Fri Sep 24, 2004 6:01 pm    Post subject: Re: Some Key things to remember Goga wrote: overuse of the money can offend people. i'm not sure what you mean. money, unfortunately, DOES, in a way, make the world go round. we need money. we all live in a modern society - we work to get money -- to live is to spend -- to spend is to enjoy ourselves. how can spending based on your income and what you are *used* to offend people? why should they be offended when we spend? as a tourist, you've got no choice but to spend. you spend $$ to stay at a hotel. you spend $$ to eat, to drink, to shop, to explore, to see sights, to hear sounds, to BOTH do things you are accostumed to (to make yourself as comfortable as home) AND at the same time, to experience something different.
