I understand that mennonites reside in different parts of the world, where they feel they can live and worship the way they choose, and I was wondering if there were any mennonite groups existing in Russia?

There's a small group of people living in Siberia that comminucate exclusively through question marks, exclamation points and LOL sounds. But there very few or no menonites in Russia.

Oh kind of like this: Question Question Question Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation you need to get past your fears Mrspice, life without exclamation points would be pretty drab, and life without questions marks, would mean nobody would ever learn anything! Laughing

Yes, it's a joke. I made this site just for fun. Some still believed me that it was for real!

A friend of mine who lives in a small town about 50 miles from me said most of the people living in the town he lives in are Mennonites. According to him, Mennonites came from Russia originally. I guess they fled to avoid religious oppression. I saw an obituary in our local paper a while ago and it said the guy was a Mennonite and was born in Ukraine.

I have lived near and worked with Mennonites all my life...the ones I Know are some of the finest, hardworking and honest people I've ever met and will offer you a ahnd if and wen a person is in need. They also own a resturant near us that puts weight on us everytime we eat there. Very Happy
I will ask them this week about Russia.

Ive only come across two, they were dressed like they were amish, but they were probably mennonites because I dont think there are any amish clans near the california/mexican border. (I saw them in tijuana)

The Mennenites in Minnesota dress like everybody else and use modern farming methods. Hutterite (we have them nearby also) women dress sort of like Amish but the men do not.

Fire_Goddess: There are very issues less relevant to this forum and Russia than menonites. I would suggest you inquire about Mexicans living in Russia in your next post to keep the discussion going -Smile

This issue is very relevant to this forum as it deals with possible russian mennonites. You need to grow up, because I can see you are getting your ass kicked in another thread Laughing you really know how to win friends and influence people dont you? Laughing

I agree with Fire-Goddess...this thread does have information conerning Russia.
I dropped by to see one of my Minnonite friends today at his home. I asked him could we talk about Minnonities and Russia some time when he wasn't busy.
He said certainly.
He told me to bring the skinny twins over one afternoon so they could ride his horsey and visit with is grand daughter and we would talk then.
I'm amazed, it seems everytime I would like a small favor from someone, I have to anti-up the twins for collateral...I never had to do this until they showed-up here Very Happy
