Also . . .
Is everything as expensive in Zelenograd (or any of the outskirt places around Moscow) as in Moscow? And how easy/fast is it to get into the Moscow centre from Zelenograd?
Thank you, that shall be all. |

Zelenograd town is a district of Moscow. One of the farest district but rather good. There are clean and fresh air every morning, lot of parks, many high modern buildings and original planning. It is a new town - was settled at 1964 year as a new town of Moscow region and then it became a part of Moscow.
Zelenograd was planned as a highly concentrated center of Computer and Electronic tech in USSR (Russia) like other centers in California
There are many electronic companies producing TV sets, soviet PC , other consumer electronics. One of this companies is "Electronika".
Now Zelenograd is a town with populatuion 280.000 people, has its own univercity (radio&electronics), some colledges.
As for me Zelenograd is a good place for living out of Moscow but not far then an hour of driving by car. Yes, Zelenograd is little cheaper than Moscow. Rent a flat in 1,5 times less than in Moscow and there are many comfortable appartments in 22-floors houses!
If you want to choose Zelenograd as a place for living you should remember some my advices.
If you want to go to Moscow - the best way to do it is to use a train. 30-50 min and you'll be at the center of Moscow, Leningradskiy Vokzal. Don't reccomend to use a highway to Moscow (car, bus) - VERY much problem with traffic jams especially in rush-hours.
Then you should to find some appartments in "8-mikroraion", "10-mikroraion" or "16-mikroraion" for a place to living. 5 min to markets, shops, Train Station "Kryukovo" to Moscow. |

Yes, thank you very much wwwadim, that helps a lot. 30-50 minutes by train is not too much at all -- I thought it might be more like 2 or 3 hours!
I am going to apply for a job at a school there, so perhaps by next autumn I shall be in Zelenograd to see the leaves fall. |

Oh yes, I am being very careful. Thank you for the link.
I don't get how the school scam works though. Maybe they could get you to fly over to Russia and there's really no job, but what would that gain them? Are they trying to kidnap me for ransom or something? Because if that's it scammers I assure you you won't get much for little old me. |

It's official -- I'll be living in Zelenograd come September
Finally, I get to see the one country I've always wanted to see above all others! Now, I need to get my Russian friend to help me with my terrible spoken Russian. |
