I will be arriving from Moscow on express train, early September.
Where is the Rail Road Station, that Moscow trains end up in St Petersburg, and what Metro Station is close enough to walk to?
Another thing: I am going to reserve a sleeper, hopefully from here in US, by
WayToRussia.Net website. Has anyone done this and how does it work?
By the way, how do you say "sleeper" in Russian?
Thanks,
Vladimir |

| You will arrive in St. Petersburg at Moscovsky Vokzal. There are a few metro stations just across the square (Ploshchad Vosstania) once you exit the train station. A sleeper compartment is "Kupe" (second class). I have used the service partnered with WayToRussia before to purchase tickets. I have been very satisfied in the past, but I am currently having difficulty. Maybe the company has changed. |

If you enter the railway building from the train, inside the hall (to you left, if you face the monument to Peter the Great) is the entrance to Mayakovskaya/Vosstaniya Metro Station. No need to go outside and cross the square |

Thanks Anna and every one else.
I will take your advise.
Do you think I can handle the Metro (to Okhtinskaya Gostyinica)
with my suitcase and the carry-on? Or should I consider a taxi?
No problem with Ru!

| A taxi would be safer, but if you take the metro be sure that all zippers on your baggage are locked, and nothing important is in outside pockets. I have taken the metro with a big backpack and an additional bag, but not with a suitcase. |
