James Guest	Posted: Mon Nov 04, 2002 11:20 pm    Post subject: chess in Russia I am interested in going to Russia as a chess tourist. I want to visit chess clubs and maybe compete in a chess tournament. However, I haven't been able to find much useful information. Can anyone help me?

If you're in Moscow, you can go to Izmailovskaya metro station (blue line), come out to the park, and just walk about 3 minutes inside the park. There's a little covered veranda where old people gather and play chess. I think you could join them. I'll try to find more information about other places where you can play and compete.
