doruk Just Starting Joined: 23 Aug 2004 Posts: 1 Location: Chicago, IL USA	Posted: Mon Aug 23, 2004 8:42 pm    Post subject: Best type of visa to backpack with Hi, I am planning on visiting russia for 12 days and would like to be flexible as far as how much time I spend in each city and what hotels / hostels etc I stay at. Can I do this with a tourist visa? Does the tourist visa require me to fix my hotel and city choices upfront? I have heard from a friend that getting a business visa allows me to be more flexible. For getting a business visa do I really have to be going there for business or does the business visa just require a business invitation and the rest does not matter. Any recommendations or links to official documents will be appreciated. Thanks, Doruk

Be sure to get your visa registered. When you apply for your tourist invitation, list the cities that you think you will visit, and register your visa in the cities that you spend 3 or more days.
