Добрый день!

Today I called the St-Pete's agency, mentioned on this site and through which we ordered a visa support. My friend is coming here with a multiple-entry business visa. I would like him to be registered in my apartment (I am ready to provide all necessary letters), but in that agency (IntelService...) they told that they only can do it in a hotel for 2 months. It conflicts with what I've read on this site (Registration section).

Have anybody here ever managed to register in apartment with business visa?

Thank you very much in advance!

Val

The situation is like this: if you want to register somebody at your apartment, you need to gather all the necessary papers, and go to your local OVIR (passport department) to register your friend. The IntelService office in Moscow can give you a detailed explanation of the process (for free, of course). Such registration will take time, but will cost about $10-$15 in official fees in all.

Another option you have is to bring the passport of your friend to IntelService's office in St. Petersburg and they will register him in a hotel. That will cost more, but will save time queueing. After the first two months, you will need to re-register again.

I will check with them exactly why it is only two months now, maybe there was some kind of directive from the local police department, usually you can register without problem for 6 months.
