Arrived Southern Russia with 3 month private invitation, completed documents for temporary residence (wife Russian national).
Everything going fine, but now told that local FSB cannot authorise without consulting Moscow - both internal and external services.
This sounds ominous and will inevitably result in huge delays.
HELP - after the immense stuggle to get all documents together and the local OVIR to accept, we now run the risk of visa expiry and I will have to leave.
What are my options. I need to leave anyway for a short trip, can I return again in a few weeks on another private invitation and resume waiting for the temp residency application that is already in the system, or do I need to start all over again? |

Sorry to hear about that. I hope somebody here can answer your question. Otherwise, I guess you have to ask the local police about that, since they are the experts on ”residence permit”. Well, the answers and services they offer seem to be rather arbitrary, whitch is probably why you turned to this forum with your question.
I don’t have anything constructive to advice. But I would appreciate it if you keep us updated on your process. Could you please state what documents they demanded that you present to get residence permit? Was being married to a Russian citizen an absolute must? |

What did they say at the local FSB about this idea of getting another invitation and waiting further? Could you explain to them that actually your visa will expire and you will not be able to wait until they authorize your application? Try to be persistent with them, it will certainly help if your wife comes along. Emotions also work quite well (not negative ones, but that they see that you really need to solve the problem).
Keep us updated. |
