Hi

Can anyone help me please?
I am trying to find out/locate any agencies either based here in the Uk or in Moscow, Russia who offer a service to russians in obtaining a Visa to visit me here in the UK.

Earlier this year i travelleed to Russia and found usuing an 'agency' here much quicker and easier in helping me with my Russia Visa.

Are there any such places? Question

Thanks
Ike

Russians can go to UK on a private invitation, tourist invitation, or business invitation. If you want to invite a Russian person, it is very easy: you just write (by hand) the invitation and send it off to the Russian person. She then comes to the British consulate (with her foreign passport, photographs, domestic passport with propiska) and applies for a visa there. Usually it's ready within the same day. The tourist invitation can be obtained only if a Russian person books a tour to UK.

thanks
im just concerned that its sounds too easy ! Laughing

just another thing -does the 'invitation' need to be handwritten?

is an email not sufficient - i ask this as i know of such times it takes to get post to moscow -and in a few cases my letters have never even arrived with her !

hi again

just thinking..to ENSURE my invitation letter DOES arrive safely.. cant it be 'scanned' on to a computer and sent WITH an accompanying email ?

i ask this as i can support my invitation eith times/dates etc of phone calss/email and also proof of our meeting together earlier this year together in St Petersburg ... i want to prove to the authorities of the 'serious' (?) intention of my invite and our 'relationship' with as much supporting evidence as i can Smile

or alternative,,does moscopw have such things as collection points or post office 'boxes' as we have here in the uk ?

thanks again

I would advise to scan the handwritten invitation, and also, sorry, I forgot -- you should get a scanned copy of your passport (also scanned), a proof of your residence (a recent bill is the best), and a proof of your income (bank statement?). In your invitation it's also good to write what kind of relationship you have with the person and your full contact details and be available at the time when she goes to the consulate (so they can reach you to check the details). Then send everything off to this person by e-mail (scanned), she prints them out, and it should work.

I should notice that all this works when you are married to the person actually, if not, maybe she should first go to the consulate and ask them what papers they need, but I think what I specified should be enough (although, no guarantees Smile
