hi, i am going to Kazan, Russia on the 1st July, and i have a few questions.
can anyone give me advice on what to do about money? (i am english) should i just take my pounds and change it there?, take dollars from here and change it there?

also what clothing should i take? i'll be there for 25 days.

Major banks will exchange all major currencies. The dollar exchange rate is fluctuating and is not as high as it used to be.

Don't take much cash, exchanging money is expensive.

Forget credit cards. Outside of major businesses in major cities they're useless and a liability. Ditto for Travelers Cheques.

Bring your ATM card and live off cash from ATM machines. We've done it for years. Withdraw rubles, this is a cash economy.

End of story.
