This weekend sees the annual Eurovision song contest. Should Russia win this year, then will the Russian government relax visa rules so people can visit Russia more easily? Ukraine did this when they won Eurovision and in fact visas are no longer needed to enter the Ukraine for many Europeans. I enjoyed my visit to Russia and would go again, I am put off by the hassle of obtaining a visa.

What country are you from? Are you from the US or Canada?

I am from the UK so I do need a visa. A basic Russian tourist visa is normally single entry valid for 1 month. A UK visa for a Russian is multiple entry valid for 6 months.

I haven't heard any songs from this years Eurovision and I will miss the contest, I will be watching paint dry on saturday night.
