Way to Russia Talk Lounge

1.Ok, so from what ive read, ATM cards are the way to go. Thats what I did while in Germany, I would draw out a large sum (as it cost 2-5$ everytime) and try to have it last. So I guess money wise Im all set, plus the Canadian dollar is fricking high. Good times.

2.I plan to go to Moscow, St-Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod and maybe Volgograd. Along with the Golden Ring, Novgorod and a few other small towns.

My original plan was: Moscow, N-V, St-Petersburg. But Im wondering: is a train ticket to St-Petersburg more expensive from Moscow or N-V? Or is it pretty much the same, considering N-V is farther away? What about Volgograd? Would it be better to head to Volvograd from Moscow, or N-V?
Ill be there about 3 weeks, and Im still not sure of what itinetary to take.

Any accurate sources for train ticket prices?
What I can find online differs immensely and I want approximates that actually ressemble the prices Ièll be seing when traveling.

It is more expensive to change canadian dollars for rubbles in Russia or to change canadian dollars for Euros in Canada and then for rubbles in Russia? Is it easier in middle and big cities in Russia?

Thats right all you will need is your ATM card or better still 2 cards in case one gets lost, stolen or damaged. If you are going ouside big cities just draw enough to see you through. Using ATM's gives you the best exchange rate.
