So, the big question...

Next poll will be on general hooligans... this only specifically refers to skinheads who attack based on their racist views.

It must be the same thing as with bears: they exist, but mostly you see them in the zoo where they won't attack you.

Skinheads don't bother WASPs. I've seen Putinistos and Putinistas out in force too - Nashe or whatever they call themselves now.

Never had a problem with skinheads, but here's a question about that- around Vladimir you see lots of black triangles spraypainted onto fences, and written underneath is always "Nashe Delo". From the name I assumed that it was some sort of nationalist group, but do you guys know anything about it?

How about if I saw a skinhead and attacked him? Y'know, got the jump on 'im, a pre-emptive strike of sorts? That should be in the poll. Unless of course you're trying to conduct a serious poll, in which case you should just ignore me.

As it happens, skinheads are considered one of the dangers of visiting Russia. Well, that is in the opinion of the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

It is on the webpage of cautionary 'Travel Information' that wavetossed mentioned on another thread.

Most people I know haven't seen skinheads, terrorist or muggers on their travels in Russia but all, at some time or another, have been robbed by corrupt police or officials.

Odd that this most common tourist hazard is not mentioned.

Look at Bosnia, for exemple.
I for one will not consider any of these advisories in my trip planning. So far, what I have seen is pure BS. The countries that I am staying away from right now are the US and Britain. Razz

I wonder what the purpose of this thread is.... Anyone trying to give the impression that the skinhead and racism problems in Russia are anything less than serious is clearly delusional.
